The Postgraduate Diploma in Biohealth Business Management is the second of a series of specialization degrees aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills needed to promote and consolidate the creation of companies in the bio-health sector.
This education is part of the International Joint Postgraduate Program “Advanced Skills for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the BIO Health Sector”, developed within the European Project BIOHEALTH Gear Box Alliance (BIO-ALL), funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus +, KA2 (code 600936-EPP-1-2018-1-PT-EPPKA2-KA). This educational program will be implemented jointly in Portugal (Universidade da Beira Interior), Italy (Universitá Politecnica delle Marche) and Spain (Universidad de Granada).The students who complete all the planned education will be able to obtain the Master’s degree in BioHealth Entrepreneurship and Innovation (pending approval).
The Postgraduate Diploma in Biohealth Business Management (20 ECTS) of the University of Granada consists of the central modules of this international postgraduate program (M5-M8), which includes in blended learning mode, theoretical/practical online classes, virtual or face-to-face seminars at BREAKER, visits to companies in the BioHealth sector and complementary project-based activities (assistance to hackathons, round tables, entrepreneurship events). These modules are:
- Business Strategy (5ECTS)
- Marketing and Sales (5ECTS)
- Entrepreneurial Finances and Investment (5ECTS)
- Human Resources and Team Management (5ECTS)
Adapted to the new reality of the post-COVID19 stage, this Diploma consists of 80 hours of online classes that will be taught simultaneously in English to students from Portugal, Italy and Spain. Also, 40 hours of tutoring and 52 hours dedicated to extraordinary training sessions (seminars, entrepreneurship events and company visits) have been planned. The rest of the hours are part of the student’s autonomous work until completing 20 ECTS.
In the first quarter of the academic year 2020/21, the University of Granada offers the Postgraduate Diploma in BioHealth Business Creation, while in the third quarter the Postgraduate Diploma in BioHealth Business Development is offered, completing the International Joint Postgraduate Program.The students who complete all the planned education will be able to obtain the Master’s degree in BioHealth Entrepreneurship and Innovation (pending approval).
The BioALL project finances great part of the registration fee of the students who obtain the Certificate of Academic Achievement.
Competences and skills acquired
The student will know or understand:

In addition, after obtaining the diploma, students will be able to:
- understand the process of strategic management and its relevance to the success of the organization.

- apply the main concepts and strategic tools for an integrated perspective of corporate and competitive strategy.
- define the term marketing and explain its role and importance in an individual company and in the economy in general.

- identify and classify marketing segments and objectives, demonstrating the use of market research techniques.
- create and use a mission statement, SWOT analysis and SMART goals.
- describe the elements of the marketing mix (4P’s of marketing).

- understand the fundamental principles of financial investments: how investors make investment decisions and what determines asset valuations and returns.
- identify profits, cash flows and shareholder value.
- identify the short and long-term financial needs of the company .
